Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources Environmental Education

Watershed Education-Pennsylvania State Parks, PA DCNR
Watershed Education is an educational program for Pennsylvania students and teachers in grades 6-12. It promotes classroom and field research, hands-on ecological investigations, networking, partnerships, stewardship and community service in an effort to produce environmentally literate citizens.

Pennsylvania State Education Association
PSEA represents more than 158,000 teachers, educational support personnel, counselors, administrators, curriculum specialists, librarians, support personnel, health care workers, school dental hygienists, school nurses, school psychologists, school social workers, vocational-technical instructors, community college and junior college facilities, students and retirees.

Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts Grants
The PACD administers two grant programs, the PA Chesapeake Bay Educational Mini-Project Program and the Nonpoint Source Pollution Prevention Mini-Project Program. With funding, organizations are able to implement educational programs to increase local awareness of water quality issues and to promote the theme, We All Live Downstream. The projects encourage citizen participation in activities to improve water quality in local watersheds. Projects are awarded up to $1,000 to promote water quality and pollution prevention.

Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education
The Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education promotes the environmental education process as a tool to sustain environmental quality for Pennsylvania. As partners, we work to empower all PA citizens to individually and collectively exercise environmental stewardship.

Pennsylvania Sea Grant-Education
The educational component of Pennsylvania Sea Grant focuses on the development of curricula and other programming related to Pennsylvania's Lake Erie watershed and Delaware Estuary, placing special emphasis on the incorporation of Sea Grant, Delaware Estuary, and Great Lakes and mid-Atlantic related materials into middle and high school curricula. The strategy includes a balance between classroom work and field experience. The ultimate goal is to increase environmental stewardship among our youth.

Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc.(PACD)
PACD provides districts with education and information to help them in their work in land and water conservation.

Water Resources Education Network in Pennsylvania
The Pennsylvania Water Resources Education Network (WREN) is a nonpartisan informal collaboration among organizations and public officials working for the protection and management of Pennsylvania's water resources, both surface and ground water, through education and informed policy making.
